Oak and Poplar Box with Cherry Inlay Part 3

This is the last video in this wooden box build. The box sides are made from an oak limb that had fallen from an oak tree. It was a fairly decent sized oak limb but I could tell it was probably already gone too far for there to be much usable wood in it. The land owner of the land on which the tree resides said he’d like to see me make something out of it. I told him I thought it was too late to do anything with it. But a few weeks later he mentioned it again. I was like, “Dude, it didn’t fall from the tree for no reason.” But it was almost like he was daring me. So I dragged the log back to the shop and began cutting it up. And I did manage to salvage enough boards to make the sides of this box. It was punky wood and pretty brittle but I managed to get those boards. I added some poplar that I had on hand for the tops and bottoms and added a cherry inlay to create this stacked inlaid box. It didn’t happen without a few problems though.

Homemade Redneck Router Table Part 1

#router #routertable #redneck

I recently purchased a router which I was enjoying using very much. However, using it without a router table was limiting. There's somethings I just couldn't do that I wanted to. Others that I could but not having a router table made it much more difficult. I looked at some that were manufactured, but I just didn't have the money available at the time. I had some spare wood, so I decided to make my own.

Making my own router table gave me the ability to make it the way I wanted and to suit my specific needs. I was able to build it with a little more surface area for larger projects I am planning on doing. So in the video below and in part 2 You will see how I built my homemade redneck router table!

Palletwood Wine Rack Build

A rustic style wine rack, or shelf, made from palletwood. A fairly easy build, though getting the nails out of a wooden pallet can be a rough task to achieve.

Summers Woodworking's Birdhouse Challenge 2015

This is my entry into Summers Woodworking's 3rd Annual Birdhouse challenge Contest. The intended species for this birdhouse are sparrows. I used what I had laying around to build it, therefore the design is rustic and loosely based on the house portrayed in the television series Little House on the Prairie. Thank you Brian for hosting the contest. Thank you to all the sponsors. And good luck to all those that enter the 3rd annual birdhouse challenge competition!

Grandma's Bible Box

I built a case for my grandmother's old bible. It was a step up in my woodworking skills as this is the first time I have done mitered dovetails; a.k.a... blind dovetails. This is a bit of a step away from my normal style of videos as this is a tribute to her more than a shop video.

Rotary Tool Wood Carving Part 6

The finishing touches on the rotary tool wood carving. I finish smoothing and show you a few of the background textures I use with the Dremel rotary tool. Put some stain on and it's ready to use in an upcoming project. I apologize, this one is a bit long. I didn't want to split it into parts right in the middle of what I was doing. I hope you enjoyed this series and I hope it helped show you how I do some of my woodcarving.

Rotary Tool Wood Carving Part 4

I really enjoy wood carving witht the rotary tool. I'm using a Dremel rotary tool, but there are other's available. The Dremel is the best I've found for the price. And it's easy to find accessories for the Dremel that can turn it into a multi-tool with limitless options.

In the video below you'll see part 4 in a series I am working on for my youtube channel on wood carving with a rotary tool. Please check out my youtube channel for other wood working projects! Donald Vlogsifys Wood Shop

4 am

4 am and here I sit. 4 in the morning and no one beside me.

I can't sleep. Too much on my mind. Where I want to be. Where I've been. Where I am, and where I'm going. Tired of being alone, but here I am. I have some one, but not really. She can't be with me right now. I'm not sure she really wants to be. But why would she keep me hanging on? Why would she keep hanging on to me?

I got no money, no prospects. I'm just a middle aged man with a bad liver who smokes way too much. Why would anybody want me? I try, but everything goes the wrong way and falls apart. I try to be a good man. I don't drink anymore. I haven't since 2005. When I'm with a woman, I don't cheat, never did. I've been cheated on. And still couldn't bring myself to screw another woman until I was done with the cheater.

I bring the woman I'm with flowers. I make her things. Hug and kiss her for no reason. Just to show I love her. Yet here I sit. 4 am and alone. No one to hold close to me. She can't be with me right now. 4 in the morning, I can't sleep and I'm alone. No heartbeat beside me to listen to. No woman's scent to make my soul feel at peace.

So damned tired of being alone.

I wonder what I've done sometimes. What sin have I done to be in this hell. My mind won't stop thinking. My heart won't stop missing her. Sometimes I want out so badly. I just want to stop feeling anything. What have I done that means that nothing can ever go right for me? I ask this of God. I ask for forgiveness in whatever it is I have done. He seems to have turned a deaf ear to me.

I laugh. I make funny videos and act stupid. I act happy. Inside there is torment and this seems to be an endless tunnel I'm in with no light to be found. No light coming. Dawn will come, the sun will come up. And all I'll see is darkness and a lonely feeling I can't get rid of. You see there is a woman I love. Maybe I shouldn't, but I do. Maybe I have every reason not to. But I do. And she can't be with me right now. We can't be together right now. And it's 4 am. 4 in the morning and I'm alone.

Rotary Tool Wood Carving Introduction

This series is going to start off slow, but there is information I feel you will need to have. Bare with me, it will get to the actual carving.
